Dear Friends,

As we look ahead to the fall semester at the University of Maryland, we are delighted to share the Gildenhorn Institute for Israel Studies’ public programming for Fall 2026. With Israel and the broader region continuing to experience profound and consequential changes, this semester’s events will bring together scholars, experts, and practitioners to examine some of the key issues shaping Israel’s society, politics, security, foreign relations, and culture. We hope these conversations will provide valuable context, encourage thoughtful engagement, and offer our community an opportunity to explore the many dimensions of Israel today.

This fall, the Institute is bringing together a wide range of voices and perspectives to address timely questions and foster substantive conversation. Most of our events will be held online and scheduled at times that make it possible for participants from different regions and time zones to join us. We hope this format will allow us to reach a broad audience and create opportunities for meaningful exchange among participants both in the United States and abroad. These events reflect our commitment to creating opportunities for learning, dialogue, and informed discussion about Israel and its role in the region and the world.

We hope you will join us for one or more of these programs and encourage you to share the information with colleagues, students, and friends who may be interested. Event details are included in the attached flyer. Please save the date(s) and click here for additional information and to register.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Warm regards,

Ilai Saltzman
