Description

Franklin & Marshall College invites applications for the Robert F. and Patricia G. Ross Weis Professorship in Judaic Studies and History, a joint appointment in the Program in Judaic Studies and the Department of History beginning August 2026. Appointment is for nine months (August – May) and is not subject to renewal. The rank will be Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor, depending on qualifications. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess or be close to completing a doctorate in Judaic Studies, Jewish History, or related field and have demonstrated teaching experience. Area of specialization open. We are interested in candidates who can teach Modern Jewish History as well as a broad range of courses in Jewish history and cultures. The position carries a 3/2 teaching load and includes the expectation to lead and organize co-curricular events for faculty, students, and the broader Lancaster community.
