CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: FOR AIS VICE PRESIDENT AND NEW MEMBERS OF THE BOARD

Nominations for the AIS Vice President

The AIS Nominations Committee [Arieh Saposnik, Chair; Muhammad Wattad, Adia Mendelsohn-Maoz, Amnon Aran, Jonathan Gribetz, Ingrid L. Anderson] invites nominations for the position of AIS Vice-President, beginning in June 2025 and ending in June 2027. The Vice-President should be a senior scholar in the field of Israel studies with at least 5 years’ membership in the AIS. The Vice-President works closely with the AIS President and with the Executive Committee.

Nominations, including a cover letter and CV should be sent to AIS Executive Director, Asaf Shamis at ais@aisisraelstudies.org.  

Members may nominate themselves or other members whose consent they have secured. The deadline for all nominations is February 26, 2025.

Nominations for the AIS Board of Directors

The AIS Executive and Nominations Committee invite nominations for the AIS Board of Directors beginning in July 2025 and ending in July 2027. Board members are eligible to extend their terms for another two years. The AIS Board members serve on the Association’s standing committees and are expected to contribute to its annual conference.

Past board members who have not served on the Board of Directors for at least four years may be re-elected and serve up to two additional two-year terms.

One nominee will be a member who received their PhD during the last five years before being nominated to the Board, and has been an active member of the AIS for at last three years before being nominated to the Board.

Nominations, including a CV and brief statement of background and qualifications, should be sent to AIS Executive Director, Asaf Shamis at ais@aisisraelstudies.org.
