The Colby College Department of Jewish Studies seeks a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2027/28 academic year to teach three Modern Hebrew language courses (beginning through intermediate) and one course in Israel studies on a topic of their choosing.

The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching introductory Hebrew in a fun, engaging, creative manner and committed to employing a multivocal approach when teaching about Israel. Candidates must have relevant prior teaching experience, a solid command of Modern Hebrew, and a master’s degree or higher (or equivalent advanced degree) at time of employment. (Colby will arrange for the successful candidate to receive training in the Ulpan-Or Hebrew language curriculum prior to the start of the fall semester.)
