ET ELE SHACHECHU: DAN BEN-AMOTZ, AMOS KENAN, URI ZOHAR AND THE TEL AVIV BOHEMIA (HEBREW)

The book follows three of the most prominent, famous and important artists who were part of the Tel Aviv bohemia of the 1960s and 1970s and assesses the historic role of the Tel Aviv bohemia of that period. The goal of the book is to describe, for the first time, the political activity of the central figures in the Tel Aviv Bohemia and tell the story of how they tried and failed to influence the trajectory of the State of Israel, particularly with respect to relations with the Palestinians and the Arab world. The research follows Dahn Ben-Amotz, Amos Kenan, and Uri Zohar along two lines: their creative work and the political messages they weaved (or did not weave) into their books, films, and plays, as well as the political activity which, in many cases, they initiated and executed together. This is the first scholarly study to analyze the political life of Ben-Amotz, Kenan, and Zohar and addresses the historic role of the Tel Aviv bohemia.
